The Brigham Young University Chamber Orchestra will be in Australia this month, performing in concerts in Newcastle, Sydney, Melbourne, Hobart and Perth.
The tour, entitled “Canyons to Coastlines”, will include concerts featuring music from the United States, Australia, and other countries. “Canyons to Coastlines” refers to the canyons and other landscape of the United States, especially in the western states; and the coastlines of Australia.

All rights reserved.Concerts will feature collaborations with William Barton; the Hobart Chamber Orchestra; and the Chimera Ensemble. In addition to concerts, the Chamber Orchestra will conduct workshops with local high schools and participate in community service projects.
William Barton is a composer, producer, multi-instrumentalist, and vocalist. He is widely recognised as one of Australia’s leading didgeridoo players and composers.
One of the concerts they will participate in will be held at St. Paul’s Cathedral in the heart of Melbourne. The Orchestra will perform selections from Handel’s Messiah with the St. Paul’s Cathedral Choir.

The BYU Chamber Orchestra is composed of 51 of the finest musicians the university has to offer. The group demonstrates a mastery of classical and contemporary works and has performed internationally, including China, the Philippines, Italy, Egypt, and Turkey.
