Bringing Teens Together in Australia and New Zealand

At various locations across Australia and New Zealand in January, thousands of teenagers are taking part in “For the Strength of Youth” (FSY) conferences.

These gatherings, which are organised worldwide, offer opportunities to sing, dance, play games, participate in workshops, devotionals, and other activities—all aimed at strengthening faith in Jesus Christ in a fun and friendly atmosphere.

Elder Jared V. Ormsby, an Area Seventy (regional leader) of the Church of Jesus Christ from New Zealand, said at the recent New Zealand FSY, “We have to choose Christ, we have to choose the Saviour…He will always be there for us, and he will never let us down…He can heal anything and anyone in this life. All we have to do is look to the Saviour and live.”

One young attendee from the Cook Islands, Celine Piakura, said, “I had to turn to the Saviour when I was having trouble with friends. They weren’t doing good things and because I knew what I believed in, I knew I was right. So, I had to make some sacrifices and let go of some friends in order to feel happy and follow the Saviour.”
