Mark Stinson, a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, sang “I am a Child of God” at an Auckland interfaith concert on Monday 28 May.
The song is a favourite among Mormons, especially children, as it outlines Latter-day Saint beliefs regarding God and His plan for all His children.

Others shared their talents and beliefs in a number of performances on the night.

From the earliest days of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Joseph Smith elevated the principle of religious liberty and tolerance: “We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may” (Articles of Faith 1:11).Read more about Mormons and interfaith relations here.
